Education and Erotica?
The Gay Sex Project has several different purposes. First, it is a documentary of gay culture. People can come to this site to gain perspective on a cross-section of people in society that have had gay sex. They may find out that just because they had a gay experience, they are not necessarily gay oriented. On the other hand, they might find most of their own experiences are closely related to those men who identify themselves as "Gay".
Determining the boundaries between the orientations of gay, straight, and bisexual is a personal endeavor. The clinical or "official" boundaries between sexual preferences are very blurry. This causes many people to feel they have a lack of insight regarding where they fit on the sexual spectrum in society. The Gay Sex Project strives to document the gay portion of spectrum though written and visual examples to offer new insight.
This particular site is a unique compilation because it is a hybrid between an educational documentary and erotic entertainment. While planning The Project, it became very obvious that we could not illustrate one without the other when examining the issues above. Insightful education and erotica is a rare topic mixture. Hopefully the uniqueness of The Project will enable new perspectives of self and society as a whole.
The Gay Sex Project also intends to document changes in trends, important issues, and public opinion within the gay community over time. This longitudinal study will enable new issues to be studied and addressed as they come up. At this time, The Project has barely scratched the surface regarding this goal. Such a study will ultimately be a work in progress forever.
The Gay Sex Project welcomes anybody who is interested in witnessing the complexities and depth of the ideas, actions, experiences, and notions that individuals and groups within society label "Gay".
